The practicability of Arnold Schönberg’s game distinguishes it from other 20th century art cards. As a designer, he did not cross the border between applied and autonomous art and his card game remains playable. Despite its rigid framework, Schönberg found room for innovative strategies which enabled him to establish individual expression in the game.
