Podo is a large, evergreen, much-branched tree up to 60 m high with compact crown growing in highland rain forests , it is grown for Firewood, timber, poles, tool handles, utensils and ornamental purposes. In uganda it is found in Bukoba extending to Masaka and planted at Tooro Botanical Gardens where this photograph was taken.
