The Hard Edge series

Hsiao Chin's first trip to New York in 1967 began his exploration of hard edge art. Compared with the western extreme art, which uses rationality and calculation to arrange the picture space, Hsiao Chin's works at this stage are intuitionistic. He constructs a life world that moves in a static state. This series is composed mostly of cold and rational composition and vocabulary. Acrylic is used as the medium for painting, presenting pure and smooth pictures.
