At the Poli Grappa Museum in Bassano you can admire the evolution of the art of distillation, enclosed in five suggestive rooms. The first displays reconstructions of distillation apparatus and ancient historical documents. The second room is dedicated to the origins of Grappa, and shows all the typical features that make this Italian distillate a unique product all over the world, from the raw material (the grape marc) to the different distillation methods. In the third room you can watch a video on the production of Grappa. The fourth room exhibits the most complete collection of mignon Grappa bottles known in Italy (about 1,500 pieces from 323 distilleries). Here you can also try the “Olfactometers”, special installations that allow to smell twenty different types of distillates. In the fifth room it is possible taste and buy products from Poli Distillerie: the proceeds from sales are used to further research into the art of distillation and the origins of Grappa.
