A hussar pappenheimer-type helmet with openwork wings. Poland, late 17th/ early 18th century.

A hussar shishak was a type of helmet commonly used by the Polish hussar cavalry. It resembled the West-European pappenheimer helmets. It appeared in several versions: with a finial on the top, with a high comb, or with fan-shaped wings attached to the skull.
