A decisive work in Wyspiański’s oeuvre, the one that opened up new horizons for him to create historiosophical works, which reinterpreted Polish history, was a design for the stained glass window in the Lwów [Lviv] cathedral. Consisting of two parts, painted in oils on canvas (like two preparatory pastel studies), it was part of the artist’s legacy.
