Movement with circular plates. Spring driven with anchor escapement and free rear pendulum as regulator. Repeating mechanism; strikes full hours and quarter hours on a bell. Date indicator.
The clock belongs to the type of early 19th century figural clocks that commonly showed scenes from Greek or Roman mythology. The male and the female figure with a tree between them are probably Vertumnus, the Roman god of the changing seasons, orchars and vineyards, and the nymph Pomona in her orchard.
