Men’s poncho composed of four parts with vertical seams. Geometric and floral drawings are present. The four corners are folded and hidden in the fringe finishing. This is a so-called “poncho jesuitico”, produced in the Andean zone in the 19th century following the typical composition in four cloths sewn together vertically. The precious fibre (alpaca wool) and the shape classify the object as pertaining to the native aristocracy. The floral drawings are instead of European taste.
