This scene painted by Tarchiani displays Michelangelo beside Pope Paolo III, while he’s showing him the model of a building. Behind the two, a group of cardinals assists to the meeting. The space in which are located the figures is not very characterized, and it isn’t easily identifiable with the artist’s studio. Tarchiani takes inspiration from the general composition of the Boschi’s canvas who, in the same moment, was painting for the Gallery the episode with Michelangelo showing to Giulio III the Palazzo di Via Giulia model.
