Eusebio Valli was an Italian doctor and scientist who lived between 1755 and 1816 to whom we owe a fundamental insight into the concept of vaccination. In fact, he understood how it was possible to immunize against a contagious disease by injecting healthy patients with the same substance responsible for the infection but in an attenuated form.
