Since the first Empire, the "troubadours" trend grew up. François I portrait, one of the most popular King with Henri IV, was a favourite subject for artists. Pierre Révoil, a XIXth century troubadour painter, was inspired by the famous portrait of François I, King of France, realized from a medallion by Titian, kept in the Louvre.
