When Eastern Screech Owls hunt they rely on their excellent camouflage and just perch and wait, letting the prey come close to them before swooping in to catch it. Often one-eyed owls can be released successfully. A study done by CRC's medical center indicated that one-eyed owls released from CRC were as successful as those with one eye, based on returned band data.
