Abraham Ulrikab and his family were recruited by Johan Adrian Jacobsen for an ethnological exposition of the Hagenbeck company in Hebron, Labrador in 1880. During their tour he kept a diary which is the only account of an ethnological exposition written by a participant. Like their companions, Ulrikab and his family died of smallpox. The organisers’ had failed to provide the necessary vaccinations.
