Adele De Capitani de Vimercate, daughter of Ambrogio, belongs to a noble family of ancient lineage, with her brother Guido, both of whom benefited the Ospedale Maggiore. The two relatives are generously involved in the life of numerous charitable and welfare organizations, including the Ca 'Granda, to which they destined 120,000 lire in 1936, asking the half-length portrait of both to be executed by Giuseppe Palanti, a skilled and very beloved performer from the Milanese bourgeoisie. The two portraits are in fact realized "en pendant" and both are not to the liking of the Artistic Commission that accepts them but judges them "inferior to the dowries and the fame of the author". Adele's portrait is, by form and style, similar to that of his brother. Very pleasant, he portrays the benefactor with the same good-natured expression and in the same position as Guido; the family crest is also present in this canvas. For Adele, a few more concessions, in the case of a lady, with a pair of coquettish details: the beautiful pearl necklace and the elegant, very slight lace stole that she held with the fingertips of both hands.
