The Marquis Antonio Cossoni (1756-1849), criminal lawyer and prominent political figure in the Milan of the time of the restoration (the family was sympathetic to Austria: even the noble title had been granted by Giuseppe I of Austria in 1705 as reward for services rendered to the Austrian Empire), originally from Dongo (Como), despite his loyalty to the house of Austria he continues in the exercise of his duties, thanks to his established abilities, even during the Napoleonic domination.
