Portrait of Canon Bartolomeo Bortolazzi

The person portrayed is Count Bartolomeo Bortolazzi (Trento 1710-1797), canon of the Trento Cathedral. In 1774 he went on a journey in Italy and during his absence from Trento, which lasted from July to November, he stayed in Rome, where he probably came into contact with the neo-classical painter Anton von Maron, a famous portrait painter and pupil of Mengs.
