Casa Buonarroti

Casa Buonarroti
Firenze, Italy

The bust carried out by Costoli celebrates Cosimo Buonarroti, the last Buonarroti family’s direct descendant. Cosimo, just 18 years old, in 1812, had been appointed overseer of his father’s possessions. Thanks to him the palace in Via Ghibellina was restored, after being abandoned for 20 years, it was reduced in poor conditions. Once the works have been completed, Cosimo moved in the house in via Ghibellina and to his death wanted that the Buonarroti dwelling became a charitable trust, in order to let bequeath it to Florence the heritage of his family.
