Domenico Cesa Bianchi (1879-1956), already a pupil of Camillo Golgi in Pavia and of Luigi Sala, later medical assistant of Luigi Devoto at the Clinic of work, directs the clinic of special medical pathology in the "Granelli" pavilion. Cesa-Bianchi completed studies on the clinical diagnosis of pulmonary tuberculosis, on Banti's disease, and on the pathology and clinic of hemoplasmopathies.
