Portrait of Edwin S. Clymer

Clymer was a student at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia where he studied with Anshutz and Hugh Breckenridge. He is posed in this extraordinary pastel with a cello, perhaps a studio prop. The incense burner in the background appears as a still life element in other works by Anshutz.
