Epitacio Pessoa (1865/1942).
Minister of justice in the Campo Salles government, he acted as coordinator of the governors' policy. During government, he established the reform of the army and the remodeling of the city of Rio de Janeiro, with the razing of Castelo hill. He founded the University of Brazil in 1920 and, in 1922, held the great Exhibition of the Centenary of Independence. At this same time of his mandate, the uprising of the Fort of Copacabana took place.
