Ettore Berla died on 17 September 1907. In his will he ordered a legacy of 100,000 lire in favor of the Ospedale Maggiore, in his and his wife Corinna Levi's names, in which a life annuity is envisaged, intended for the assistance of needy convalescents, that is for those cases "in which the Hospital cannot provide, precisely for subsidies, care of baths, orthopedic aids".
