More Information: Lotten von Düben accompanied her husband Gustaf on an anthropological expedition to Lapland in 1868. Their luggage contained cumbersome photographic equipment used to document the Sami people. The photographs were later used as masters for lithographic illustrations in Gustaf von Düben's major monograph 'Om Lappland och Lapparne' (On Lapland and the Lapps), which was released three years later.
She was a pioneer in documentary photography in Sweden.
