Francesco Locatelli (1824-1895), a law graduate from Pavia, brother of Giovanni Battista, a benefactor of the Ospedale Maggiore, he practices as a notary in Como and Milan. When he nominates the Ca 'Granda as universal heir, providing legacies for other welfare agencies and Milanese parishes, he specifies that a part of this legacy be used to establish old-age or invalidity pensions for hospital nurses who have distinguished themselves in particular for their quality of welfare. The portrait commission is entrusted to Enrico Crespi, who represents him smiling in a sober bourgeois interior.
