Portrait of Giacomo Besozzi

Giacomo Besozzi (1791-1865), a doctor of law, appoints the Maggiore Hospital in Milan as his heir with usufruct for his maid, who had served him for years with care and commitment. The portrait is commissioned from Napoleone Mellini, who depicts him at half-length, leaning against the table on which the text of the Civil Code alludes to the profession of the benefactor, who holds the will in his hand.
