Ca’ Granda – Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico
Milan, Italy

The notary Giacomo Bovisio died in 1626. He left 7,000 lire to his daughter, who later became a nun in the convent of San Bernardino, and the rest (some real estate in the Lecco area) to the Ospedale Maggiore. The following year, his mother also donated all the property she had brought to her husband, in dowry, to the hospital. The author of the portrait is documented for this painting only. The painting was stolen in 1978 and found the following year.
