The knight Giovanni Morandi (1820-1901), a native of Saronno, an engineer and wealthy landowner, left the Ospedale Maggiore as the universal heir of his huge assets, arranging numerous legacies and asking above all for it to transform his house in via del Santuario 2, to Saronnno, in a hospital annex for the inhabitants of Saronno and Uboldo.
