Portrait of Girolamo Muziano

A portrait of the painter Girolamo Muziano (1532-1592) whose dedicated efforts led to the founding of the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. Ghezzi portrays him in typically academic style, his face stern and austere, surrounded by the tools of his trade and emblems and documents from the Papal Chancery.
