Giuseppe Pestagalli (1727-1807), a nobleman, held various important positions in Milan in keeping with his status, including those of Prefect of the Fabbrica del Duomo and Deputy and Prior of the Ospedale Maggiore. He left a conspicuous inheritance of about 500,000 lire, between movable and immovable property, to the Hospital, which took possession of it in 1815, on the death of the widow.
