Composition in black and white. Predominance of shaded and contour lines. Portrait of the head of Graciliano Ramos occupying almost the entire area of the support against white background. The pictured is 3/4 facing left, has long face, straight hair and thin combed straight back, broad forehead with temple baldness, bushy eyebrows, small droopy eyes with puffy dark circles, long and wide nose, well-defined closed lips, wrinkles in the lower jaw, square chin and short neck. The upper part of his closed collar shirt can be seen. Light falling from the left of the composition creating shadow on the left side of the portrayed.
