Portrait of Hans Ebeling, former Melbourne Cricket Club President. Ebeling is depicted with his right hand in his trouser pocket, and his left elbow resting on the edge of a shelf. Artwork is signed and dated by the artist, "P. Fitzgerald 1972". Hans Ebeling was elected as an MCC Committee member in 1934 and as Vice-President of the club in 1954. Prior to his term as President, he was one of the main organisers of the 1977 Centenary Test. He was also Chairman of the MCC Bowls Section for ten years. Ebeling played cricket for Victoria from 1923/24 to 1937/38, and in 1934 he was a member of the Australian team to tour England, where he played in the Fifth Test of the series at The Oval, and a number of First Class matches.
