Portrait of Ignazio Resnati

Ignazio Resnati (1770-1861), a wealthy merchant, benefactor of various welfare agencies and the Ospedale Maggiore while alive, appoints it as universal heir on his death with the clause that the income deriving from his assets were used to increase wages of nurses "in order to obtain from them an assiduous and charitable assistance to the sick".
