Portrait of Johann Sebastian Bach

Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) was Thomaskantor in Leipzig from 1723 until his death. In 2011, the New York Times named him the most important composer in music history. The portrait is one of two originals by the Leipzig council painter Elias Gottlob Haußmann.
