Portrait of the author of the Rapperswil monument, Julius Stadler (1828-1904) - Swiss architect, fine watercolourist, lecturer and later professor of architecture at Zurich University of Technology, active member of the most important institutions and organisations engaged in art and architecture in the capital, friend of the previously mentioned Gottfried Semper and Jacob Burckhardt - a Swiss historian of art and culture, one of the deepest historical thinkers of his time.
