Portrait of Lorenzo Lenzi

Bronzino1527 - 1528 approx.

Milan, Italy

This portrait of the young Lorenzo Lenzi is the first evidence of Bronzino's portraiture.
The dating of the painting is confirmed by the strong influence of Pontormo's models and the accentuated naturalism of the boy, still far from the formal abstraction that would characterise his mature work.
