The portrait shows a bust of Nicolaus Copernicus en trois quarts turned to the left. Copernicus' face has sharp, characteristic features and pronounced cheekbones, and his mouth has a prominent lower lip. Wavy hair arranged in dense curls. In his right hand, the man holds a bouquet of lilies of the valley. Left invisible. Dressed in two layers: a simple robe, and on top of it a waistcoat with a turn-down collar, lined with fur.
