John Laing and Son Ltd started building the Aylesbury Estate in 1967, providing homes for over 7,000 people. Patricia Flanagan was the first woman to be sent to a Laing construction site as an assistant engineer. Seen here holding plans and kneeling on steelwork, this photograph was published in August 1969 in Laing's monthly newsletter, 'Team Spirit'.
