Pietro Labus (1893-1949), was orphaned at 15. His father Carlo, (a benefactor himself) was a doctor at the Ospedale Maggiore and founder of otolaryngology as an independent specialty. His great-grandfather was Giovanni, an archaeologist, epigraphist and sculptor. His uncle Stefano, was a councilor of the Ca 'Granda from 1890 to 1900, and on his mother's side, his uncle Antonio Giovanola, was a senator and minister of Vittorio Emanuele II.
