Pietro Turati (died 1890), Prefect of the Kingdom of Italy, appoints heirs any descendants of his only son Philip. In case they had not been born, he provides that the inheritance of 55,000 lire is donated to a charity. In 1932, after Filippo Turati dead, the legacy is sent anonymously to the Ospedale Maggiore, together with a photograph of Pietro for the execution of the portrait, which was commissioned to Gino Moro, a young artist at the time, who later had a long pictorial journey through the twentieth century art, which also leads him to wander in different genres.
