Boris Nikolaevich Polevoy (real name - Kampov; March 4, 1908, Moscow - July 12, 1981, ibid.) was a Russian Soviet prose writer and a screenwriter, a journalist, a war correspondent. Hero of Socialist Labor. Laureate of two Stalin Prizes of the second degree (1947, 1949). Winner of the International Peace Prize (1959). He was an author of «Real Man Story» book about Aleksey Maresev, a Soviet II World War fighter pilot .
