Between 1910 and 1920, Pio Semeghini actively participated in Ca' Pesaro's Venetian experiences. During this time, he also developed a friendship with the painter Juti Ravenna, to whom Semeghini dedicated this portrait, demonstrating his interest in the subject's appearance and gaze through precious oil paint brushstrokes that flow pure and transparently while leaving substantial areas uncovered.
