Portrait of William G. Fay by John Butler Yeats, commissioned by Annie Horniman for the opening of the Abbey Theatre, 27 December 1904. A leading actor, William G. Fay also acted as Stage Manager and Manager of the theatre in its first few years of operation. He created the role of Christopher Mahon in John Millington Synge's The Playboy of the Western World in 1907.
