The oval, carried out to celebrate the illustrious members of the Buonarroti’s family in the room of night and day, shows two friars of the family. Friar Bene was a predicator and he was remembered for his fervent working activity, also in old age; friar Leonardo, Michelangelo’s brother, followed the Savonarola’s doctrine and donned the Dominican habit at the convent of S. Caterina in Pistoia.
