Delf Slotta, Bischmisheim and Staatskanzlei des Saarlandes Open Gallery

State Chancellery Saarland

State Chancellery Saarland
Saarbrücken, Germany

This porcelain box is decorated with an image of the Saarbrücker Bergwerksdirektion and colour gradients popular at the time. The building, which was constructed from 1877 to 1880 according to plans of Berlin architect Martin Gropius, was a symbol of the successful mining history in the Saar region and therefore a symbol for the prosperity of the Saarland for a long time.
