This post card, mailed, from Jonesboro, Georgia on June 6, 1908 at 6 p.m. describes the lake at Grant Park as follows: "The natural beauty of Grant Park is greatly enhanced by the construction of a picturesque lake, known as Lake Abana, which is used for boating and swimming by many picnic parties who visit this playground. The park was the gift of the late L.P. Grant of Atlanta, and besides the usual park features, has a Zoological Garden and a cyclorama."
The post card's note on the front reads: "found that you are much better. how glad I am - hurry up and come down and we will have a good time. I will take you to see the swan. Aunt Sue."
