Travelers often collected postcards of the hotels they visited. Hotel guests enjoyed beautiful architecture, scenic views, and luxurious rooms, all of which often appeared on souvenir postcards such as this one. Staying in a hotel was one of the main attractions of a trip, as it offered vacationers an escape from daily life but with all the comforts of home and sometimes even more. This postcard, postmarked 1908, captures the experience of one traveler who wrote on the reverse side, "Blanch and I are at Bay point it is a slick place, will stay for a few days."
