Guests enjoyed beautiful architecture, scenic views, and luxurious rooms, all of which often appeared on souvenir postcards such as this one. Staying at an inn or hotel was one of the main attractions of a trip, as it offered vacationers an escape from daily life but with all the comforts of home and sometimes even more. This postcard, dated 1914, captures the experience of one traveler who wrote on the reverse side, "This is some swell place. Having a fine time, wish you were here."
