Although Buffalo New York's Pan-American Exposition in 1901 was a celebration of culture and achievement, many remember it as the place of President William McKinley's assassination. On September 6, 1901, shortly after McKinley had delivered a speech, Leon Czolgosz-an anarchist-fired shots at the fair's Temple of Music building. One shot found its mark: the president died eight days later.
