Franciszek could not go back to Poland for fear of repercussions due to his pre-war political activity in the ranks of the National Party, which was regarded as a hostile ideology (the same as all alternative political options) by the new communist authority in Poland.

Best wishes from Gdynia, Sopot, and Oliwa. We are visiting wonderful cathedral, park, and the coast. We are coming back in 2 days. We met Ms Czesia Szczyp. here. Tenia looks healthier now, slightly tanned (lack of good weather) and rested. I spent very little money, considering today’s prices. Tickets, accommodation and the entire 3-week stay cost only 9000. Best regards M.K. Dear Daddy, It’s been a long time since I had as many experiences as now, and I feel great. Today we visited the cathedral in Oliwa. It has a wonderful organ that I’m sure you’ve heard about. In a few days, we will go to Łódź. Daddy, I will send you a lot of our photographs from Oliwa. Now we are going to the pier with Ms. Czesia, whom we accidentally ran into in Gdańsk. Yours, Tenia
