Theresienstadt, 6 June 1944
Dearly beloved,
Today, on mother’s 66th birthday, we are celebrating plainly and simply and we are thinking particularly of you with love and thanking you from the depths of our heart for all your kindness and the help you have given us. Mother was overjoyed to find your lovely parcel on the birthday table—it had already arrived earlier. We are in good health and would be happier if we knew you were too.—We received Grete’s sweet message on 28.5.44 and were very happy about all the greetings from our loved ones, and we are sending warm wishes back to you too. We hope our dear Grete is back from the hospital by now and is feeling better. Meanwhile we were delighted to have received Georg’s note from 1.5 as well. We are very pleased to have received news of all our dear relatives and send you all our very, very best wishes. I have still not received the documents sent by registered mail. Our very warmest wishes from all four of us to you and all our friends.
Yours,
Erich
