nvented in the late 19th century, basketball quickly became the sport of choice in American high schools in the early 20th century. Before the dawn of television coverage of college and professional games, high school games were extremely popular with players and fans alike. With the word "basketball" at the top and a graphic showing two young men playing the game beneath, this simple poster also features a large blank space at the bottom for filling in game time and locale by hand. Posters such as this were mass produced and then customized to fit individual school's needs.
